On this day, February 28, 1918, as 36 delegates representing 24 local fire fighter unions convene in Washington, DC to organize the International Association of Fire Figthers. 100 years later we celebrate this important date in Fire Fighting history. Thank you to all of those that came before us.
The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) represents professional fire fighters and emergency medical services personnel in the United States and Canada. The IAFF was formed in 1918 and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO in the United States and the Canadian Labour Congress in Canada.
