    Highway 85 Structure Fire
02/16/19 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
At 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, several 911 callers reported a house on fire at 9442 N. Highway 85 in Douglas County. First arriving Battalion Chief 1 reported smoke showing from the 2nd floor of a small, single family home and confirmed with the occupants that everyone had safely evacuated without injuries. The area doesn’t have fire hydrants, so a large response included Tenders to truck large volumes of water to the scene. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and quickly extinguished the fire before it could extend through more of the structure. Northbound Highway 85 was closed for about 30 minutes while emergency vehicles operated on the roadway and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Thanks to West Metro Fire Rescue for the automatic aid assistance on scene. https://www.southmetro.
